Mercury conjunct Pluto is the ultimate in top-secret research and spell-making. This is the aspect of powerful words, propaganda and secret societies like the freemasons. Singer Kate Bush, who has this aspect, even wrote a song about this theme; Experiment IV “tells a story about a secret military plan to create a sound that is horrific enough to kill people…. in the music video nearly every person working on the project is killed by the horrific sound, which is personified by Bush herself as she changed from an angelic woman into a banshee” ~ Wiki

Words have such importance that they are life-or-death. Mercury conjunct Pluto can be associated with being hushed up or threatened if you dare speak out. Blackmail is possible with this aspect too. There is a great obsession with solving mysteries and uncovering the truth no mater how deeply buried it is. The subject will risk their life in order to solve a crime. Since Mercury is associated with medicine it can heal and resurrect someone from near death (Pluto). This healing may be done by singing or shamanic drum transmissions. It’s not gentle healing though, more piercing and purging. Funnily enough the singers below do have quite ‘wailing banshee’ type voices, more arresting than calming. (Bush can do both!)

Padre Pio Of Pietrelcina is my example because I had no idea of the supernatural background to the Saint that festoons the walls of every Sicilian relatives house. They love him, but he is fascinating in quite an S & M way… Padre Pio is most famous for bearing the stigmata, the permanent, bleeding wounds of Christ’s crucifixion in the palms of his hands. (Mercury). As a child Pio slept on a stone floor with a rock as a pillow and according to his parents was able to speak with Jesus and the Virgin Mary.

Mercury rules medicine and Padre Pio’s health was an issue for most of his life. He suffered insomnia, fainting spells and severe migraines. The pain of these illnesses seems to have brought on out-of-body experiences for Pio. Friars in his company had reported seeing him levitate off the ground in a state of ecstasy. Despite is ill health Padre Pio lived to the age of 81 and it was for the last 50 years of his life that he received the sign of the stigmata. The wounds only healed up once, but were constant. Physicians could not explain them as the wounds never became infected and smelt of perfume or flowers.

Stigmata & Sorcery

Padre Pio suffered constant pain from the stigmata, but was accused of faking his wounds with carbolic acid. “According to Agostino Gemelli, Padre Pio was “an ignorant and self-mutilating psychopath who exploited people’s credulity.” ~ Wiki. 

The church was initially skeptical of Padre Pio’s supernatural abilities, but after his death, Pio was made a saint. During his lifetime he received visions, communicated with angels and supposedly gave sight to a blind Sicilian girl. “Padre Pio believed the love of God is inseparable from suffering….He felt that his soul was lost in a chaotic maze, plunged into total desolation, as if he were in the deepest pit of hell.” Padre Pio’s followers believed their Padre was being constantly attacked by the devil who used “used diabolical tricks in order to increase Padre Pio’s torments.”
